I chose a beautifully grounded green for the wainscoting, \u003C/span>\u003Ca href=\"https://www.farrow-ball.com/us/paint/lichen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u003Cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lichen by Farrow & Ball\u003C/span>\u003C/a>\u003Cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It has a dry, flat finish that pairs beautifully with the earthy limewash paint on the walls and ceiling, \u003C/span>\u003Ca href=\"https://portolapaints.com/products/bistrot-lime-wash\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u003Cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bistrot by Portola Paints\u003C/span>\u003C/a>\u003Cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Limewash is such an amazing way to bring visual texture and dimension to a space, something I definitely wanted in this room!\u003C/span>\u003C/span>\r\n\r\n\u003Cspan style=\"font-family: opensans-regular; font-size: 14pt;\">\u003Cb>Designer Tip:\u003C/b>\u003Cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> If you’re using limewash in your home, don't stop at the walls—carry the limewash all the way up onto the ceiling. It was something I went back and forth on, but I’m so glad I went with my gut. It absolutely \u003C/span>\u003Ci>\u003Cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\">makes \u003C/span>\u003C/i>\u003Cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the room. Wrapping that organic texture overhead creates a fully immersive, cocoon-like feel that you just can't achieve when the ceiling is left plain. Parquet floors and carved details ground the space in its prewar heritage, while one-of-a-kind decorative objects and artwork create layers of discovery. Around it, I layered textures and materials that feel worldly and tactile.
